Dick

Dick has been with Dave’s ACE since February 1998. He retired from GM in August 1997 after 33 years. The last nine years were spent working in the maintenance department. He started at GM before he graduated from the old Janesville Senior High School in 1965. Dick’s enthusiasm and his willingness to help customers is very evident in the store. He’s very knowledgeable about tools and hardware. Additional training with ACE in paint, plumbing and electrical seminars has helped him become a more well-rounded “helpful hardware person”. He also had Dale Carnegie training in speaking and human relations. When asked what he enjoys most about working at Dave’s ACE , Dick said “working with people—I am a people person”. He was referring to the customers he can help by solving their problems, but he emphasized that he also enjoys his fellow employees here at ACE. Three children and seven grandchildren are a source of pride for Dick. Dick enjoys woodworking, gardening, and his grandchildren.
