DAVE'S MILTON ACE HARDWARE
In 1938, Milton resident, Don Hillestad, opened a hardware store on Main Street in Milton Junction (later to be consolidated with Milton). He ran the business until his retirement in 1983. From 1983 until 1991, the business was owned and operated by Hillestad's daughter, Martha, and her husband Dick Johnson. In 1991, current owner/operator, Dave Warren, took over the business and is still operating it today.
DAVE'S EVANSVILLE ACE HARDWARE
In 1971, Evansville residents, Margaret and Gordon Brigham, opened a hardware store called Coast-to-Coast. In 1990 Coast-to-Coast filed bankruptcy and the Brighams decided to franchise with Ace Hardware. They decided to retire in 2003. This is when Dave Warren took ownership. Since Dave has taken over he has added new departments and updated equipment such as phones and computer systems. He has also buildt and moved the store to a larger location off of Brown School Road. His brother Paul manages the Evansville store.
